The Caswell County Tourism Development Authority (CCTDA) Is excited to announce that the 2024-25 Small Grant Program is now open. The grant cycle began July 1, 2024 and will be open until funds are expended. Small businesses and organizations located in Caswell County that have a direct impact on tourism, are eligible to apply for a small grant (from $500 - $2500). Did you know that the beginning of Farmers Markets can be traced back over 5,000 years to Egypt? Although those first markets involved both farmers and craftsmen engaging more in bartering than the selling of items, they were a way for those in the region to connect and obtain provisions required for survival.
Despite many locals not quite grasping the concept of shared workspaces, the facility is contributing greatly to the economic development in the county. Right here in our small town is the home to quite an amazing group of professionals that call Caswell County home and also work here for major corporations. Each day the facility is home to at least 12 different companies several of which are on the Fortune 500 list. Others are independent contractors or solo-prenuers (entrepreneurs that run their own business and do not have any employees aside from themselves, for now).
You may have noticed that there is a different name circulating around town...Compassion Health Care. It is actually the new umbrella name for Caswell’s own, Caswell Family Medical Center.
Not only has the team at Caswell Family Medical Center been very busy working to provide quality health care services to our community but they have also been diligently building a medical practice for patients in neighboring Rockingham County at their Eden location, the James Austin Health Center. It opened in 2019 and is celebrating its first year anniversary this month.
If you do not have young children, you may not be aware of the Caswell County Partnership for Children, but if you do, it is likely you interact with the group from time to time. As their mission states: CCPFC unites the community to provide families with resources and services to enable all children to reach their fullest potential. As the marketing project went from month to month, it became clear even to someone without young children, how important this group is for building a solid foundation for our children in the county.
